Does any of this sound like YOU?
I’m burnt out in my career, and I know I need to make a change.
I have a side hustle I love, but it isn’t growing or making me money.
I have lots of ideas, but I’m not making progress towards any of them.
I’m stuck in a job I’m not passionate about, and am daydreaming about being the CEO of my own business… but I don’t know where to start?
I am here to tell you, YOU can turn that CEO dream into reality if you are willing to do the work.
We all see those women who are killing it and living their best life. You might even envy their success and the freedom they’ve achieved.
What you haven’t seen is the hustle, the juggling of a fulltime job, missing out on time with family, managing a household, the long nights, the years they have put into it already… the blood, sweat, and actual tears that have been shed making their dreams a reality.
So cut yourself some slack, and stop comparing yourself and your business to others – because you cannot compare your 6-months to their 6-years! Put your eyes on the prize, and start doing your work for you!
Now I know saying and doing are two different things. Sometimes it is hard to know where to start. There is so much going on in your head, it's easy to let all of that overwhelm you and cause you to take no action at all.
So if you don’t know how to get started, look no further – I’m here to inspire and motivate you!
Here are the first 3 steps to go from being stuck, to getting unstuck and turning that side hustle into a profitable business.
Evaluate your passion
Really self analyze and ask yourself whether this is something you want to do. I say this because it takes a lot of energy and time to go from side hustle to main hustle. The time may come when you are doing both at once, on a nearly full-time basis!
Are you willing to make sacrifices in order to be your own boss, the CEO of your own company? In order to have the freedom and flexibility you’re craving?
The word “sacrifice” may sound scary, but that’s the truth of it. And I would rather you ask yourself these hard questions now, instead of realizing 6 months down the road that this isn’t something you’re passionate about!
Let me clarify: passion does not mean you love what you do, all day every day.
It means that:
You are excited to work on it.
You are willing to do the hard stuff, because it’s outweighed by the rewards!
So, take some time to figure out whether you are in it to win it. Journal, meditate or do whatever works for you, to figure out if you are willing to do what it takes to be in charge of your own destiny.
What obstacles are currently standing in your way?
Once you have figured out that YES!, you are willing to do what it takes, you then need to figure out what has been getting in your way.
Are you scared to make the leap?
Are you not dedicating the time?
Are there mindset blocks?
Are you not prioritizing your dream?
Are there more skills you need to learn, so that you can push forward in your business?
What is stopping you from living up to your potential and becoming the badass CEO you want to and can become?
Do some soul searching and figure out all the roadblocks that are keeping you thinking small about your business. Don’t worry if that list is long, you need the information so that you can overcome your own limiting beliefs.
If you aren’t honest with yourself about where you need work, then you can’t do the work to fix the roadblocks preventing you from moving forward.
What are your action steps to alleviate the roadblocks?
Now that you have pinpointed what those roadblocks are, it is time to take action. Make a plan.
Quitting your day job to run your company fulltime does not happen overnight – well maybe if you are Beyonce, but we can’t all be Queen Bey…
...wait a second! That didn’t happen overnight either – it took time (like years and years, remember she was originally part of Destiny’s Child) and a lot of hard work, for her to get where she is now.
So, it's time to step up and get to the hard work of making your own dreams come true. Look at each one of your roadblocks and put together a plan to overcome them.
Here are some suggestions to help get you started:
Take a class to help you learn a skill you need.
Work on your changing your mindset to a more positive and proactive viewpoint.
Hire a coach to help you progress more quickly.
Rearrange your schedule so you can work more hours now, so you can work less later.
Whatever it is, do the work!

I know starting and running a business, especially if you are still working another full-time job, is hard. But not going after your dreams and living up to your potential is harder. And the reward for building your own company will be amazing!
No one does this alone, not even Ms. Knowles-Carter. You better believe she is constantly hiring coaches and consultants, and investing time, energy, and money into herself, to help her reach the next level.
